was chatting with jennifer yesterday, she's the waitress who often serves us at our regular chinese restaurant. she has come to brunei from indonesia all alone...her family is back in indonesia. she gets to visit maybe once a year at the most. I asked her when she plans to go back to indonesia and she said not so soon. i can imagine how tough it must have been for her to leave her country and travel to brunei all alone and to earn money as a waitress in brunei. i am sure her family must be expecting her to send some money to them as well depending on the background she comes from. I admire such brave girls who travel all alone in search of a job/career/money and maybe coming from maybe a mediocre background.
i think this is the true face of humanity, of hard work and of having dreams. Its not the violence, the wars that we see everyday. those are played because the world is full of morons with power and wealth. these are the people who will one day destroy humanity and make it harder for people like Jennifer to dream, to live, to survive. Thats why maybe its good to have a few george bush' around even though they might be having a lot of ulterior selfish motives in what they do....at least they dont kill a man's mind before its born. freedom and safety are so important in life. i wish jennifer all the best.
